Nathaniel “Rusty” Smith, II is a graduate of Fisk University and South Texas College of Law. He also attended Howard University undergraduate and graduate programs. Prior to law school and private practice, he taught Public Administration at both Tennessee State University and Texas Southern Universities before managing transit research at the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, Texas (Houston Metro) for almost a decade.
In retirement, he serves as a pro bono business/legal advisor to Introducing Youth to American Infrastructure, Inc. (“Iyai+”), while participating in various civic activities in the Mobile, Alabama area – primarily focused on achieving improved outcomes for our most vulnerable youth. And, an active member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
In terms of hobbies, he is an avid chess player, trivia buff, and world history enthusiast.
